SCREWED-UP SAINTS (Part 5)

March 2, 2009

hsc.pngThe audio of the fifth message from the SCREWED-UP SAINTS series, “How to Screw Up the Cross” (1 Cor. 1:17) is now online. Here are the small-group discussion/personal application questions:

1. Icebreaker: What’s something you appreciate or admire about your parents (whether or not you think they were good parents)?

2. What attracted you to NHC/The Fusion Community?  What was the initial “draw”?  Is that what keeps you here?  Is that what is still most attractive to you?

3. PB mentioned three broad categories of activities in our culture that most things we do fall into.  What were they?  Are there things that you do in life that don’t fall into these categories?  How would you categorize those exceptions?

4. How exactly does eloquence (or ‘engaging speaking’) threaten to “empty the Cross of Christ of its power?”

5. PB gave three application points at the end of the message.  How do they apply to you?  Did they reveal any wrong attitudes or desires in you that you and God need to work on?

Spend some time praying for each other on the basis of the answers to #5.
